Jasper Festival minutes, 1887-1907.

This collection consists of the minutes of the Jasper Festival. A roll of delegates representing city government, the military, trade organizations, and civic societies as well as a list of donors and the amounts they gave are included. Correspondence, primarily relating to excess funds donated to the Colonial Dames for a monument to James Oglethorpe and an index are also included in the volume.

The Jasper Festival was a celebration formed at the invitation of the Jasper Monumental Association in Savannah, Georgia. It was composed of representatives of various civic societies and military organizations. Its charge was the plan the unveiling of the Jasper monument in Madison Square.
